custom 18x24" fur family portrait

I worked with Lexi to commission a custom piece for my mom for Christmas. Lexi went above and beyond to cater to my every need—everything from adding a third furry family member to the piece to some last minute minor changes. It is obvious her priority is sharing her love for her art with her customers and ensuring that they are happy with every detail of her work. She is extremely thoughtful, professional, and talented. I’ve already shared her Etsy page with several friends and co-workers, and I hope to work together again on commissioning more pieces!!

Kelsey reached out to me looking for something of a fur family portrait for her mom as a Christmas gift. i don't think i could have said no if i tried. her mom already had two cats and had recently adopted an older golden so it seemed just the right time to create something so memorable.

meet Mr. Grey, Phoebe and Bella - three fluffy beings that have wiggled their way into Kelsey's mom's life. Kelsey didn't have a preference on colors and gave me creative freedom for the design. Mr. Grey's photo made me laugh - he's so sassy.

i loved the incredible difference between the two cats which meant i needed to account for that in the colors and it seemed that pretty Phoebe needed to be the middle dog between them. now, whether or not that's their true nature i don't know, but it made for a great design.

the proof

i chose contrasting colors inspired by a Mara Houffman swimsuit in order to maintain coordination while still keeping distinct personalities. i opened Mr. Grey's eyes so he looked a little less grouchy and kept Bella in the sweet, playful pose. Phoebe is acting as the middle pup between them.

when Kelsey sent me the photo of the framed piece and her mom with that ear-to-ear smile, i lit up. this is why i love what i do.
