2020 book list

this seems to be my year for reading - and i’m not complaining in the least! i wasn’t sure if you’d necessarily want reviews for each book, but if you need something else to add to your list, i thought i’d share what i’ve been reading. the theme i am noticing seems to be sherlock holmes-esque murder mysteries, at least thus far, but who knows, maybe it will change with the seasons.

if you do decide you’d like reviews, just say the word and i’ll happily put together little summaries of my thoughts.

i really enjoy Audible - more than i thought i would. it’s great for when you’re doing work that’s more muscle memory than heavy thought. but, be careful of your narrator selection - they can make or break a book. think terrible high-pitched, scratchy voices or worse, nasally reading.

and as for digital, i struggle reading digital books (aka, Kindle versions). i tend to find myself losing focus, wandering off in thought. i like the physicalness that is paper and turning a page. plus, i think staring at my computer all day, just making reading digitally feel like work.

up next on my list:

  1. the power

  2. this tender land

and i am always in need of something new (actually, right now even) so comment below with what you’ve loved reading recently. it can be a cult favorite, literary classic, interesting, or just downright hilarious; i read just about anything (except trashy romance novels).
